Privacy policy

mycme.com.au ("mycme") is operated by eMedu (ABN 50 651 674 172). This policy explains how we handle personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
Your name and work email; employment details your organisation records (employee number, department, cost centre, classification, FTE, line manager); continuing medical education claims, including activity details, expenses, receipts, leave requested, signatures and approval decisions; and technical records such as sign-in times and IP addresses kept in our audit log.
Why we collect it
To let you prepare, sign, approve and process CME claims for the organisation that employs or engages you, to send the notifications that move a claim along its approval route, and to keep a record of who did what for audit and payroll purposes.
Who sees it
Your claims are visible to you, to the approvers on that claim's route, to your organisation's payroll staff once a claim is approved, and to your organisation's managers. Approved claim packs are emailed to your organisation's payroll address. We use service providers to run mycme: Amazon Web Services (hosting and database, Sydney region) and Postmark (email delivery). If your organisation turns on receipt reading, receipt images are sent to Anthropic to extract the date, amount and supplier. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.
Your organisation
Your employer or engaging organisation decides who is added to mycme, what agreement rules apply and how long records are kept. For most requests about your employment records, contact your organisation first.
Security and retention
Data is stored in Australia and encrypted in transit. Access is controlled by role and every claim action is logged. We keep claim records while your organisation's account is active and for the period it needs for payroll and audit, then delete or de-identify them.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you, or make a privacy complaint, by emailing info@emedu.com.au. We will respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
